2021 Wines Praised by Wine Advocate

It is always unnerving to send wine off to critics for review. Sometimes our very best efforts fall short of a critic's expectations. We producers just send wine off into the ether and hope for the best, and we often wait a long time in suspense.  

We're happy to report that Robert Parker's Wine Advocate has once again rewarded our efforts! As I've said before, singular reviews don't mean a lot in the big picture; but consistently positive reviews year after year point to a level of quality and consistency that is quite meaningful.  This is what we strive for.  See below for the latest from Wine Advocate:

95 Points, 2021 Pinot Noir, Split Rail Vineyard

The 2021 Pinot Noir Split Rail Vineyard has pure, ringing aromas of cranberry, lemon peel, tobacco, underbrush, graphite and generous spicy undertones. The light-bodied palate is silky, bright and elegantly styled with a deep core of crunchy red fruit and a long, earthy finish. It's easy to drink without sacrificing expressiveness and nuance.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Lester Family Vineyard takes some time to open its aromas of wild berries, lemon peel, mushrooms and earth with complex undertones of Angostura bitters. The light-bodied palate is bright and silky with a deep core of juicy red fruit and a long, spicy finish.

92 Points, 2021 Integrato Pinot Noir, Santa Cruz Mountains

A barrel selection matured for 11 months in used oak, the 2021 Pinot Noir Integrato has bright aromas of wild red berries, autumn leaves, rooibos tea and mushrooms. The light-bodied palate features concentrated, earthy fruit. It has a silky frame, juicy acidity and a long, spicy finish. 100 cases were made.
