We were initially going to call this wine “Two Mountains”, since both vineyards sit high atop the Santa Cruz Mountains, overlooking the Monterey Bay. 70% Split Rail Vineyard, 30% Bald Mountain Vineyard. The best of both vineyards: the laser-like acidity, crème brûlée undertones and saline minerality of Bald Mountain Vineyard, with the voluptuous passionfruit notes of Split Rail Vineyard. She’s a bigger wine than we have become known for, and her heft is perfectly balanced with bracing acid. A great food wine, pair with Pacific Halibut, soft cheeses or rotisserie chicken.
