Bald Mountain is basically a beach that lies 1300’ above sea level in Bonny Doon on a broad sandstone and limestone bench. The one-of a-kind geology and cool growing season resulted in yields of only 1/2 ton per acre of very intense fruit for the 2010 harvest. Ruby colored, the wine expresses smokey raspberry and forest floor aromas, with subdued coffee, cola, cigar box, and chocolate-covered cherries layered on the palate. It is a true reflection of the unique terroir of this world-class vineyard.
