An elegant, textured Chardonnay from one of the most unique vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains appellation, Ben Lomond Mountain sub-appellation. The wine expresses bright pineapple notes, with underpinnings of pear, honeydew melon and creme brulee imparted by 100% new convection toasted American oak. The 2010 crop only produced 1/2 ton per acre of fruit from the sandstone soil of this award-winning vineyard, which was made famous by our friend Beauregard Vineyards’ 2008 Best of Class award ($50 and up) at the Chronicle competition. At only 1/2 ton per acre, the little bit of fruit you get is very intense and makes a Chardonnay like none other.
A food-friendly wine that pairs wonderfully with fresh Salmon or Halibut and summer pesto.
